Do you want to lose weight? Do you feel the need to shed off extra pounds so you could fit into your old clothes and look good on a special occasion? Or is there an urgency to lower your body fat because you are already suffering from health issues that come with being overweight? If your answer to any of the questions above is yes, you better read on before you head to the gym. You may find the information you’ll get here helpful. It’ll save you time and effort, and maybe, your life. One of the biggest misconceptions with regard to weight loss is the belief that the more you sweat, the more you lose weight so those who with too much excess weight and in a hurry to slim down tend to hit the gym longer. And I mean, longer, as in not stopping even when they are already tired. They feel that if they continue on sweating, they can expedite the weight loss process. They spend hours and hours in the gym, unaware that they might be endangering their health and exposing themselves to injuries.Imagine this: total body strength training done 3 times per week for 20 minutes and running or biking for 6-9 hours per week? Which do you think would cause more wear and tear on our body? The answer’s pretty obvious.Try heading straight to the gym and look at the people around you, and see where the people whose physiques you want to have are. Are they doing spin classes? Or are they lifting weights, just like you should?Resist the urge to overwork your body. Don’t work out more than you should and more than what your body can handle. Don’t strain your muscles; it will not do you any good. Worn muscles will not help you achieve the body you want.Go into resistance training, through this, your muscles will become stronger, your metabolism will increase, and your body will become able to burn more fat in much less time and effort, and without time outs due to injuries.

In this article Iâ??m going to show you how to diet successfully by giving you 7 top tips for staying on track. Motivation is the key to successful weight loss, so if you want to be fit and healthy, look fabulous and maintain your perfect weight forever, this is what you really need to know.

Â

Â

1Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Set SMART Goals

Always start by setting your goals and make sure they are SMART â?? that means they should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timed. You may want to include body measurements or dress sizes, as well as weight goals. Make sure you write them down – written goals are more likely to be achieved. You should look at your goals regularly to make sure you stay focussed on them.

Â

2Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Measure Your Progress

Measure your progress regularly â?? but donâ??t get too obsessive. Most people find that weighing yourself once a week is best. If you leave it longer than that and you have strayed off track, then youâ??ll wish youâ??d known earlier so you could make adjustments. If you prefer to weigh yourself daily, thatâ??s fine, but do be aware that your weight can fluctuate day by day, so itâ??s the long term trends that you should concentrate on.

Â

3Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Make Changes Which Suit Your Lifestyle

Make sure the changes you make to your diet and exercise programme are compatible with your lifestyle. If you try and make changes which are inconvenient, expensive or incompatible with your family or social life you will find itâ??s just impossible to keep to them. Choose a diet which your family can follow too and an exercise class which fits in with their activities. Make small easy changes which you can maintain long term, such as walking to work or part of the way and taking the stairs, not the lift.

Â

4Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Change Unhelpful Habits

Spend some time identifying any unhelpful habits – and change them. For example many people always clear their plate, even if they felt full before they finished. Often this goes back to childhood, when you may have been made to eat everything or told to think about starving children in Africa. If this applies to you, then practice leaving a small amount on your plate at every meal. Â Eat slowly and enjoy your food! But stop when you are full!

Â

5Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Get Support

Make sure you have the support of your family and friends. If they know you are are dieting, they will find it easier to help you by trying new healthier versions of meals at home â?? and they wonâ??t try and persuade you to have unhealthy treats when you are out – or be offended if you turn down their special home-baked cakes or calorie heavy desserts. Alternatively, you may find it helpful to join a diet group.

Â

6Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Use Positive Visualisation Techniques

Positive visualisation is really helpful. Take a few minutes every day and imagine yourself at your perfect weight. Just think about how great you feel and look. Imagine all those compliments â?? and those sexy new clothes! This is a great way to keep your mind focussed on those goals.

Â

7Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Reward Yourself

Itâ??s a great idea to reward yourself with treats as you reach your goals – and your milestones along the way too. Obviously you need to avoid food based treats. You can have fun with this â?? treat yourself to a film, a new book â?? or perhaps a relaxing massage!

Â

Summary

Motivation really is the key to achieving your perfect weight forever. Most people know what they need to do to lose weight â?? eat less and exercise more – but it can be hard to stick to it! Using these 7 top tips will help you stay on track so you reach your goals, stay fit and healthy – and look fabulous. Engaging the power of your mind to keep motivated, is your key to how to diet successfully.

Carrying overweight not only affects the health side of the body , it can affect your daily life. It costs more to live than the average person, both in food and clothes and travel can sometimes be very uncomfortable due to size and restrictions.
Losing weight is an individual’s decission, to want to lose weight is because of one’s own embarrassment knowing you are overweight, on the other hand being told to lose weight by a Doctor is normally very good advice and often on medical grounds to lessen the possibilities of heart attacks and strokes.
Getting down to do this through an organised program can sometimes be a stressful experience. Going from eating what you like and having as much as you like to having smaller meals on a set time of day (organised program) means that one has to have great willpower to succeed.
Mind over matter, always thinking of the end result with reduced weight in mind and keeping to a rigid program, is how to conquor a weight problem.
Weight loss is therefore very important in order to obtain a healthy body. Having said that, there are many people who are overweight and enjoy life being as they are, but ultimately their life span may be cut short for want of some weight loss.
People that have overweight problems and are looking for a fast weight loss are always susceptible to a number of diseases.
Being overweight causes high cholesterol which in turn leads to fatty deposits to build up on the walls of arteries and if bits and pieces of this deposit breaks away and starts to travel in the blood stream, it can be the cause of a heart attack and if it travels to the brain then a stroke will probably be the outcome.
Invariably, overweight can cause constipation due to the type of foods that are eaten i.e. fast foods (sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken etc.,) and lack of fibre in certain foods.
The type of food diet that should be considered is of the fibre type (fruits and vegetables) with the cutting down of dairy and meat products. The fibre diets can contain certain quantities of sugar and this will cause problems for people with diabetes and they should contact their doctor.
In conclusion, to reduce constipation problems, items of foods that cause constipation should be removed and then a diet of fruit and vegetables along with exercise is a sure way of keeping the body in a healthy state and also helps in reducing weight.
There are other options to consider, such as herbal remedies, with respect to constipation, weight loss and body cleansing.
Naturel herbs have been known for years for their cleansing properties of the Colon being body safe and excellent internal cleansing effectiveness.
Natural herbal combination products developed especially for Colon cleansing – constipation coupled to weight loss are ideal for cleansing of the body.
Natural herbs will also help to stop occasional bloating and gas, reduce water retention, increase energy and help lose weight.
Detoxify and revitalize the body the easy way!

During menopause, many women report that the challenge of weight loss becomes even more difficult. The need to lose weight haunts women most of the time, and now more men are reporting the same struggle. When women hit menopause, weight gathers around the waist and hips; despite our best efforts to diet and exercise.

What we know is that this additional body fat is linked to your hormones. Most women follow a conventional low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet with lots of processed foods. Eventually this diet creates a condition known as insulin resistance; see Dr. Schwarzbein’s book on the book list.

When you are insulin resistant, your body converts calories into fat even when you are dieting. Menopause feels like a losing battle, but it doesn’t have to be.

When you are stressed, as the body typically is during menopause, stress hormones block weight loss. Despite adequate food, the body acts as if it’s in a famine and stores all spare calories as fat. This leads to a metabolic disorder called adrenal fatigue.

Many women combine a high-stress life with a low-fat, high-carb diet which creates a powerful hormonal imbalance which causes us to gain weight. Yo-yo dieting exacerbates the problem.

Also, when a woman is on a high-carb diet she is often barraged with a craving for sweets. The body can’t maintain optimal blood sugar and serotonin levels, so you snack and drink caffeine to feel better. That makes your insulin resistance worse and the vicious cycle of gaining weight is accelerated.

During peri-menopause, women lose estrogen which is an added factor to this problem. As estrogen decreases, the body needs extra fat resources. Other factors that play into this problem, are unresolved emotional issues, food sensitivities, digestive issues such as yeast, and even heavy metal toxicity.

So what do we do?

The most important step is to GET HEALTHY!

Follow an eating plan like the one in the Schwarzbein Principle or the Zone Diet

You need protein at every meal, low carbs, very little to no processed food, and lots of fruit and vegetables

Drink plenty of water

Take nutritional supplements

Try Supplements Designed for Menopause

Stop weighing yourself, use your clothes as a gauge (focus on your health not your weight)

Start exercising – walk 4-5 times a week for 30 minute (it boosts metabolism)

Get help for emotional eating – you have to face your fears to get through them

Reduce the stress in your life, make time for fun and relaxation – strive for BALANCE

Learn to love yourself during menopause and accept who you are and at what stage in life you find yourself. Menopause can make weight loss even more challenging for both women and men. But with the right knowledge and some hard work, it can be done.

Winter hibernation is over and Spring time has come. It’s time to get back into great shape and enjoy your body with some Spring exercise.

It’s here and finally time to break out your shoes or even your hiking boots, and get going. The warmer weather and sunny skies are just beckoning to me “Come outside and play!”

However, I’ve got a confession, I have been looking in the mirror noticing the fine winter coat that I have seemed to put on over the last few months. All the months of being trapped, cooped up in the house with nothing to do but eat and watch TV has taken its toll on my poor body.

Even with the sunny skies outside, it can be hard to be motivated to do anything with such a coat on, especially spring training.

Dressing For Outdoor Training in the Spring Weather.

Fitness in the spring can be a challenge thanks to our wonderfully varied weather; one minute rain, then hail, then snow and finally a few minutes of sunshine.

The beautiful thing about spring weather is that of you don’t like it wait about 10 minutes and it will change! So what ever outdoor activity you are doing just be prepared.

Spring Training

Dress in layers that you can change quickly. Start with a light quick drying base layer that wicks away moisture. Always remember NO Cotton. Cotton does not dry quickly enough.

For your next layer pile on the clothes to make the layer heavier. On top you should have a light shirt under a heavier long sleeve shirt followed by a light/medium weight jacket. You should top off with a water repellent outer jacket or a light rain slicker. You want to be able to add and remove these layers quickly and easily.

What you wear on you bottom half will depend on how your warm or cool your body runs. I ideally you do not want to have to change anything on your bottom so try to keep it simple: shorts or leggings underneath shorts, sweats, work out pants, etc.

A simple rule of thumb for dressing for a Spring Training: be a little cool or slightly chilly starting out and remember the rain jacket!

Getting Motivated for Spring Training!

So how do you get motivated, stay motivated and start your own Spring Training in spite of the winter coat and the various weather patterns?

First get excited! Find several activities that you really enjoy and get excited about. There are a lot of things to do this time of year: walking, hiking, biking, climbing, running, etc. You can even still enjoy snow sports in the higher elevations: skiing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Second plan the execution of your activity and don’t take bad weather as an excuse to deny yourself your planned activity. Be sure and have a plan b and allow for flexibility. Be determined to get your workout in no matter what.

* If you planned to rollerblade a section of the Centennial Trail but it is hailing (its hard to roll over little balls of ice!) Then walk instead or move it inside and go to the local roller rink! * If you planned to rock climb at Minnehaha but it is raining and cold then find a trail to hike instead or move your climb to the indoor crag downtown. * It you had your heart set on a hiking a mountain trail but you get there and snow is still covering the trail, bonus! Break out the snowshoes and hit the trail anyway.

Remember that you are doing this spring training for your physical health as well as your mental well being. You will feel better knowing you were not derailed from your commitment to yourself. Is All This Too Complicated?

If all this seems too complicated but you still want to get active and shed your winter coat then seek the help of a coach to shortcut the process.

The amount of work involved with the building of a stage varies greatly from show to show. There are a number of factors that affect the complexity of the stage design and therefore the difficulty of the stage building process.
The first is the stage designer’s creative vision and the second is budget. However you mustn’t assume that just because a play has a huge budget it is going to have a huge and complex stage and set design. The company, set designer and/or director may be taking a minimalist approach and have just a bucket on stage, for instance.
It is also going to depend on what type of set up the theatre already has. Stage design goes beyond mere set design and may need to incorporate such things as seating arrangements and rostra for a stage area. In some cases, it can also include lighting design.
There is three different types of stage layout common in the west and these are ‘in the round’, the proscenium and the thrust. ‘In the round’ is when the audience is sat around the staging area so that actors are surrounded completely; the proscenium, the most common stage type, is when the audience faces the stage on one side only. The thrust is when the acting area is surrounded on three sides, commonly this extends from a proscenium stage and is often used in music concerts and is an area where guitarist can ‘rock out’.
Another factor is whether the show is touring, and moving from venue to venue, or staying in one place. If the show is touring then it is likely to mean that the set building and stage design is kept simple and light in order to facilitate rapid ‘get ins’ and ‘get outs’. On the other hand a large stationary theatrical piece can have a huge lavish set. Sometimes touring sets require a lot more energy over all as they are put up and taken down at each venue. Conversely, a stationary theatrical event only needs to have the stage set up once and then taken down at the end of the run.
Again the type of stage theatre supplies that you will need will vary from show to show. Stage theatre supplies can range from scaffolding, to hold up backdrops (common in touring productions), rostra (for creating stage areas), lights (if not available) and so on. Indeed stage theatre supplies can include anything from these major requirements right the way down to the trusty old roll of multi-purpose Gaffer tape, ideal for holding sets together, stick down leads for health and safety purposes, to even holding costumes on in extreme circumstances.
As you can see the amount of work required and specific stage theatre supplies varies so much from production to production that it is almost impossible to quantify. Largely it is dependant on the artistic vision of those contributing. A rather large and spectacular stage and set design can be created on a shoestring budget, whereas a production with a very minimalistic set can have a vast budget. As such the amount of work required, or not, is largely down to careful design and planning of those involved.

A slimming body wrap does just that, helps you to slim down in a specific area. Targeting on that one area like your stomach ( tummy ) will often yield results with a slimming body wrap.there are numerous different slimming wraps available today, but the most efficient ones are the ones that have the wrap’gel’ ingredients already placed on a cloth-like material and sealed. All you’ve got to do is open the slimming body wrap package and apply the cloth to the categorical area of the body you need to target. The ingredients the slimming wrap has are all natural ingredients which will help you tone your skin, tighten, and decrease your trouble spots such as your stomach or thighs. The ingredients from these wraps are usually soaked up in as little as forty five mins. Though many folks leave them on longer for most satisfactory results.

You may call them by a different name but we have all met them. Clingons, not to be mistaken for Klingons for all those Star Trek dill holes that just got pissy about a spelling error, are those people who will never leave you the hell alone. You talk to them once and you are officially adopted as their “bestest friend in the whole wide world”. They track you down and suck your will to live. I think that they feed off your independence and in turn use it to fuel their ever incessant compilation of mix tapes defining your friendship. There are a few different types of clingons that I have had the displeasure to witness. They are as follows:

The People Pleaser Clingon: This one is mildly annoying. This is the absolute epitome of a kiss ass. They think that by doing everything they can to make you happy that you will want to be their friend. However it turns out that they just spend their time making you grumpy by always asking you if they can do something for you when you wish they would eat a stick of dynamite. The only way you can put a positive spin on the people pleaser is by exploiting their stupidity by making them do extremely stupid stuff for your own amusement. Some examples:
Running into walls
Juggling chainsaws
Eat a stick of dynamite
Pierce their eyelids shut
Amputate and appendage without anesthesia with a spork
(Insert additional amusing antics)

The Self-Involved Clingon: This one is a sneaky bastard. They lure you in by making you think that they are normal functioning friends and once they have you sitting comfy they spring the bitchfest on you. They don’t even say “Hi” to you anymore the first thing out of their mouth is something that is annoying them that day. “That guy didn’t call me like he said he would” Yeah because your smothering him with crazy. I have had the misfortune of coming across more than one of these characters in my life. The latest one which I will call Stalkerella has been on me like shit on Velcro for the last month. Not only have I been socially kidnapped by a nut job, she also insists on calling me at all hours of the night with an inane crisis that she feels is more important than me getting my full 9 hours of sleep. In the first place I don’t give a shit. In the second place I STILL don’t give a shit.

The Full Blown Stalker Clingon: The Worst. This moves beyond clingon and becomes fatal attraction. They act nice as pie when you give them the attention they are wanting but the moment you move on to another friend they see it as a competition for your soul.
Ways to tell if your friend is a stalker:

· They know your schedule. They show up mysteriously wherever you will be such as popping up in the bushes at your Grandma’s funeral.

· They insist on taking pictures of you constantly for the scrapbook (shrine in which to meditate, cast spells, obsess, and masturbate to) they are making to chronicle your friendship. They never let you see the pictures. Half the time you don’t know they are taking them. When you see weird flashes outside your bathroom window and hear “oh yeah that’s right, just like that”: be concerned.

· Your other friends get death threats in detail if they don’t stay away from you.

· They begin to look, act, and talk like you do. That favorite shirt you own they have it too; complete with your jeans, shoes, hair style, colored contacts, and a replica of the engraved gift your significant other gave you with YOUR initials.

Beware the clingon. Better yet be suspicious of every friend you ever make because they might one day try to steal your kidney while you’re sleeping and use it to clone you.

As spring approaches rapidly, it is important to remember one of the best things about nice weather is that the outdoors is no longer a cold, windy burden. Rather, as we enter the new season, we should look at the outdoors as our destination. Particularly those who want to lose a bit of weight, the outdoors may actually be a saving grace. Particularly with an environment in crisis, who wouldnâ??t want to spend as much time in it as possible?

Imagine, however, that you could at the same time enjoy the environment and help to save it, all while exercising and helping to stay in shape. No, you donâ??t need to be superman. Such a feat can be accomplished by changing your daily commuter routine from a car to a bicycle. Granted, you may have to leave a bit sooner than you would with your car, but at the end of the day (or week), you will save yourself loads of cash on gas and gain that much back in exercise. There are plenty of kinds of bikes out there, however, and prices will vary. As such, it is important to know which bike is best for us when we go shopping for one. The types of bikes for mainstream consumers include mountain bikes, touring bikes, and cruiser bikes. The differences between them are barely recognizable to the untrained eye, but many times it can mean the difference between a $150 and $500 bike. Brand recognition also plays a large part in the price of bikes, so if you are a bargain shopper it is important to not only seek out the right type, but also the right brand, of bike. Mountain bikes are best for those who arenâ??t traveling a very far distance or those who have to traverse harder terrain, such as hills or unpaved roads. The tires are generally more treaded on these bikes to give more traction, and depending if you want all of the optional parts of these bikes they can get pretty pricey.Touring bikes are perfect for the longer distance commuter, or those with more bags. Unlike the mountain bike, it has racks mounted on it, which allow for easy carrying of cargo such as a briefcase. The frame geometry of these bikes is specifically designed for an easy, comfortable ride wherever you are traveling. For those commuters who will primarily be on the paved roads and taking it easy, this should be your choice. Cruiser bicycles, similar to touring bikes, have an upright seating alignment and are meant for steady riding. These bikes actually served as an inspiration for mountain bikes and, since their decline after the 1950â??s, have grown more popular â?? and more affordable â?? since the 1990â??s. The next time you are sitting in traffic while you commute, thinking to yourself that you should be exercising, imagine that you could be solving both problems in one easy step. Riding a bicycle may not have been the first idea to cross your mind, but once you try it out, it will likely be your last. Saving the environment as well as exercising is a deal in itself that nobody else could bargain for.
